Prayagraj, June 26 -- Allahabad High Court on Friday took up the hearing of a petition challenging the Uttar Pradesh government's order on the appointment of gram pradhans as administrators after end of their term last month.
The hearing took place before a single bench of Justice Siddharth Nandan.The next hearing will be held on July 13.
During the hearing, the High Court maintained that the village heads cannot be allowed to continue as administrators.However, the court has not yet imposed any interim stay.
The court stated that appointing administrators violates the Division Bench's order, which constitutes contempt of the court.
