Prayagraj, June 5 -- The Allahabad High Court today adjourned the hearing in the matter of appointing administrators in Panchayats of Uttar Pradesh till next week due to the lack of a case number.
The case will now be heard on next Friday, June 12.
A single bench of Justice Kshitij Shailendra is hearing the case.
The Yogi government's May 25 decision to appoint Pradhans as administrators has been challenged in the High Court.
Questions have been raised about the failure to hold Panchayat elections on time.
The petition names the UP government, the Director of Panchayati Raj, the District Magistrate, the Chief Development Officer, and the District Panchayati Raj Officer as parties.
