Pune, May 28 -- Senior lawyer and former president of Pune district Bar Association Adv Milind Pawar has hailed the Allahabad High Court's recent ruling that lawyers will not face criminal prosecution for carrying out their professional duties.
While quashing criminal proceedings against an advocate in a GST-related case, the high court has observed that such action would amount to a serious attack on the right to legal representation.
The Allahabad High Court clarified that advocates cannot be subjected to criminal prosecution merely for performing their professional responsibilities.
