New Delhi, June 24 -- In a long-awaited development for lakhs of slum residents in Delhi, a major decision on their rehabilitation was taken at the 36th Board Meeting of the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

The meeting decided that residents of all eligible slum clusters established in Delhi up to January 1, 2025, will be entitled to rehabilitation benefits.

According to the Chief Minister, this landmark decision will pave the way for permanent and dignified housing for approximately 4-5 lakh families, or nearly 20 lakh people, living in JJ clusters across the capital.
