Lucknow, Sept. 5 -- Continuous rain in the mountains is resulting in floods in the plains, as the number of flood-affected districts in Uttar Pradesh has increased to 28, official sources said today.
Sources said here that most of these districts are on the banks of the Yamuna river, whose water level has been rising continuously for the last four days. "Relief and rescue teams have been put on high alert in these areas, especially in the western parts of the state," they said.
