Rosario, Aug. 3 -- Alan Velasco scored late as Boca Juniors salvaged a 2-2 away draw with Newell's Old Boys in Argentina's Clausura tournament.
Santiago Ascacibar put the visitors ahead with a 30th-minute strike but goals early in the second half from Matias Coccaro and Luca Regiardo gave Newell's the lead.
Velasco put his side on level terms in the 81st minute, completing a swift counterattack by takinga touch before rifling a shot past goalkeeper Josue Reinatti.
Boca sits 13th in the 15-team Group A standings with one point from two games, three points behind fifth-placed Newell's. In Buenos Aires, Nicolas Otamendi netted an own goal as Rosario Central secured a 1-0 away win over River Plate.
