Lucknow, July 13 -- Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav targeted the central government over its ethanol-blended fuel policy, alleging that "ethanol" has become a new name for profiteering and is a partnership model between the government, ethanol producers, and oil companies.
Akhilesh Yadav, in a statement released on X on Monday, said that the government supports ethanol by citing reduced pollution and reduced dependence on crude oil imports, but fails to address the fact that it reduces vehicle mileage and increases maintenance costs.
He claimed that ethanol-blended fuel is increasing vehicle starting problems, lowering fuel consumption, and causing vehicles to wear out faster....
