New Delhi, Oct. 28 -- Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav today launched a sharp attack on the BJP government, accusing it of squeezing Uttar Pradesh's sugar mills "like sugarcane" through corruption and complicity.
Speaking on his WhatsApp channel, Yadav demanded the immediate release of outstanding dues owed to sugarcane farmers, along with interest, and lambasted the ruling party for its alleged anti-farmer policies.
"The BJP's complicity in corruption has squeezed the sugar mills of Uttar Pradesh like sugarcane. Will the bankruptcy of UP's mills and the continuous closure of factories and shops lead to a trillion-dollar economy?" Yadav questioned, highlighting the crisis engulfing the sugar industry.
