Lucknow, May 11 -- A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed for an austerity drive in view of the conflict in West Asia, Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav Monday, launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for the possible hike in petroleum and other prices, saying the government remembered the "crisis" as soon as the elections ended.
He said the BJP is the biggest crisis of the country, and the central government's recent appeals expose its economic and policy failures.
Akhilesh Yadav was reacting to the statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi made yesterday, when he said that the government was under pressure on oil prices and other issues due to the West Asia war.
