Kolkata, May 7 -- Samajwadi Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, who landed at the Kolkata airport on Thursday, alleged that Home Minister Amit Shah and the Election Commission had failed to ensure safety and security in West Bengal.
Reacting to the killing of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari's personal assistant Chandranath Rath, he asked, ''Who is responsible for the death of someone? Who is responsible when political workers are mistreated or when party offices of the Trinamool Congress are set on fire? The presence of 3,00,000 central forces in Bengal had failed to ensure that the stage remained free from post-poll violence." Yadav said.
