Chandigarh, Aug. 24 -- Akali Dal Waris Punjab has named Pappalpreet Singh as its candidate from the Majitha assembly constituency for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, setting up a potential contest in a constituency that has long been a political stronghold of Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia and his family.
The announcement was made at a press conference led by party leader Sukhwinder Singh Agwan, who also announced the launch of the party's campaign for the 2027 elections. Pappalpreet Singh's mother and other family members, along with party leaders and workers, were present.
