New Delhi, Feb. 26 -- The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued new rules in view of increasing complaints from air passengers regarding refunds, which will be effected from March 26th.

Under these rules, passengers can cancel or make changes to their tickets within 48 hours of booking without any charge.

The regulator has also set a maximum timeline for issuing refunds and a minimum refund amount.

For this, amendments have been made to the Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR), which govern the regulation of the civil aviation sector in the country.

According to the new rules, airlines will provide passengers a "look-in option" for 48 hours after booking.
