New Delhi, Nov. 12 -- An Air India Express flight from Mumbai to Varanasi was forced to land at Varanasi airport following a bomb threat which later turned out to be a hoax.
According to police sources, a note reading 'Bomb. Goodbye' on a tissue paper was found in the aircraft's restroom. The crew alerted the pilot who quickly contacted Air Traffic Control (ATC)."Under heightened security and emergency protocols, the plane safely landed at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, and all passengers were safely evacuated.
Police sources said that once all passengers had safely disembarked, security agencies thoroughly inspected the plane but found no suspicious items. A probe is underway.
