Lucknow, Oct. 6 -- All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) executive member and Chairman of the Islamic Center of India, Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali, has demanded an extension of the deadline for registration of waqf properties on the 'Umeed Portal' by two years from December 5 next.
In a statement here today, the Maulana said that the Supreme Court's interim decision regarding the Waqf Amendment Act 2025 upheld the requirement to register waqf properties on the 'Umeed Portal'.
"Therefore, registration is an important legal requirement, and all Mutawallis and Waqf Committee officials are urged to register their waqfs on this portal as soon as possible, as the deadline is December 5, 2025," he said.
