Hyderabad, June 19 -- AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday expressed concern over the declining representation of Muslims in Parliament and State Legislative AssembliesHe stated that the trend undermines the principles of political justice enshrined in the Constitution.
In a post on X, Owaisi described as "very important" an article highlighting the issue of Muslim representation in elected bodies and noted that representation of the community has steadily declined since 2014.
"No democracy can progress if 14 per cent of its population is invisibilised from the nation's decision-making," he said.
