Patna, May 31 -- The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Patna on Sunday conducted a comprehensive Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) Mock Drill to assess and strengthen its preparedness for managing highly infectious disease outbreak.
The exercise was conducted under the guidance of Executive Director Prof. (Brig.) Dr. Raju Agarawal who explained that the mock drill simulated the arrival of a suspected Ebola patient at the hospital and tested the institute''s response mechanism from patient screening and isolation to sample collection, packaging and transportation to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune for confirmatory testing.
