Bhubaneswar, July 10 -- The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar has successfully completed 100 advanced robotic-assisted surgeries, emerging as the first government-funded healthcare institution in the State to establish a fully functional, multi-disciplinary robotic surgery programme, said authorities on Friday.
The achievement marks a significant step in making cutting-edge surgical care accessible to economically weaker and middle-income patients, who can now undergo advanced robotic procedures at highly subsidised government rates instead of bearing the prohibitive costs charged by private hospitals.
