Kolkata, May 23 -- The All India Football Federation conducted its Special General Body Meeting (SGBM) on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Kolkata, to deliberate upon the adoption of the National Sports Governance Act of 2025 (NSGA).
The SGBM was attended by 19 Executive Committee Members, 32 representatives from Member State Associations, along with representatives from FIFA and AFC.
During the meeting, the General Body unanimously approved the adoption of the NSGA by the AIFF.
The General Body discussed that the draft Constitution for the Member Associations be shared with the MAs, who are to be allowed 15 days to respond with their final suggestions.
