New Delhi, June 20 -- The governance of Indian football is headed for a historic reset, with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) approving a proposal to rename itself as the Football Federation of Bharat (FFB) as part of a wide-ranging constitutional overhaul cleared during its Special General Body Meeting (SGBM) on Saturday.

The proposal, which will now be placed before the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) for final approval, emerged as one of the most significant outcomes of a meeting that reshaped administrative, electoral and competitive structures across Indian football.
