Chennai, Nov. 2 -- The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the All India Chess Federation (AICF) has authorised the Secretary Dev A Patel to decide the future course of action regarding the Competition Commission of India's (CCI) order issued several years ago, a top official said.

The much-delayed AGM was held on October 30 at a five-star hotel in Goa, attended by representatives from state chess associations. Strangely, the notice calling the meeting did not specify its time or venue. Sources told UNI that the meeting began only at 6:30 pm, with President Nitin Narang absent both in person and online, while Secretary Patel attended virtually.
