Hyderabad, Aug. 2 -- Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar on Sunday said Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based crowd management and surveillance technology has been deployed for the first time during the Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu festivities in Secunderabad to ensure the safety of devotees.
After offering silk robes, Bonam and special prayers to Goddess Mahankali along with his family, Sajjanar inspected the security arrangements at the temple.
He said nearly 2,500 police personnel have been deployed for the festival and that the AI-enabled system uses facial recognition technology to identify known offenders, chain snatchers and pickpockets through CCTV surveillance, enabling swift police action.
