Bhubaneswar, Sept. 4 -- Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Friday announced a Rs 1,000-crore special assistance package for flood-hit farmers in six Odisha districts and simultaneously disbursed over Rs 833 crore to 41.35 lakh small and marginal farmers and 13,949 landless agricultural families under the fifth instalment of the CM-KISAN scheme, ahead of the rabi season.
The assistance under the CM-KISAN scheme was transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), and it will help farmers meet input costs, including the purchase of seeds, fertilisers and pesticides.
At a State-level programme here, Majhi also announced a Rs 1,000 crore special assistance package for farmers affected by recent floods in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadr...
