Tianjin/New Delhi, Aug. 30 -- Ahead of his expected bilateral with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the SCO Summit in Tianjin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today received a phone call from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy who called on India to intercede with Russia over the Ukraine conflict.
PM Modi, while reaffirming India's consistent position for peaceful settlement of the conflict, reiterated India's commitment to extend all possible support in this regard.
PM Modi said in a post on X that the two sides exchanged views on the dragging conflict, and that India backs all efforts to restore peace and stability.
