Hyderabad, July 31 -- The Telangana Agriculture Department has advised farmers not to purchase fertilisers from unauthorised sellers following reports of spurious and substandard DAP fertilisers being sold in Ranga Reddy, Suryapet, Karimnagar, Nagarkurnool, and Vikarabad districts.
In a statement, Director of Agriculture Dr B Gopi said cases have been registered against those involved in the manufacture, storage and sale of fake fertilisers under the Fertiliser (Control) Order, 1985, the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, and other applicable laws.
Several accused have been arrested, FIRs registered, and stocks of counterfeit fertilisers seized.
