Agartala, July 30 -- The Officer-in-Charge of Airport Police Station in Agartala, Sushanta Deb, was suspended today following the intervention of the Tripura High Court.
The suspension was a result of allegations of negligence in filing an FIR and harassment of a female complainant. The woman reported that despite submitting a written complaint about a cognizable offense to the Airport Police Station a month earlier, the police allegedly failed to register an FIR.
According to the senior advocate representing the petitioner, the police were legally obligated to register the case but did not take necessary action.
