Kozhikode, May 10 -- Following the historic breakthrough of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections, where party chief Joseph Vijay took over as Chief Minister on Sunday, the party has officially begun expanding its political footprint into Kerala.
The steps to form the TVK's first unit have been initiated at Vengappally, in Watanad which shares the border with Tamil Nadu. The TVK's Kerala expansion is being spearheaded by Safwan Khalil, who leads a group of 20 youth. The group consists of young people who are IT professionals and commerce graduates signaling a focus on a "new generation" of politics.They had put up large flex boards in Vengappally town congratulating TVK on its election victory.
