New Delhi, July 30 -- After qualifying for the men's javelin throw final at the Commonwealth Games with a best effort of 79.61 metres, two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra admitted that the difficult weather conditions in Glasgow made life tough for the athletes but said he was pleased to have safely progressed to the medal round.
Chopra finished fifth in the qualification round and said his focus was always on reaching the final rather than chasing a big throw.
"It was really cold and windy, but the throw was okay, the 79m throw. The goal was to go in the final and give my best in the final, so I'm happy with the throw," he said.
