Chennai, May 26 -- All schools in Tamil Nadu will be re-opened for all classes after summer vacation on June four.

In view of the previling intensve heat wave conditions and taking into account the welfare of the students, the government deferred the re-opening by four days from June 1 to June 4, School Education Minister Raj Mohan announced on Tuesday evening.

A decision in this regard was taken after consultations with Chief Minister Vijay following requests from parents and other stakeholdersseeking to reopen the schools at a later date instead of June 1 in view of prevailing intense heat wave conditions.
