Bengaluru, June 8 -- Even as the Congress government attempts to contain growing discontent over Cabinet portfolio distribution, fresh unease has surfaced within the Karnataka leadership over the bifurcation of Bengaluru's development administration, with Minister Krishna Byre Gowda openly questioning the decision to keep key civic agencies outside his control.
Gowda, who has been allotted the Bengaluru Development portfolio, has expressed reservations over the Chief Minister retaining control of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) and Bengaluru Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA), saying fragmented authority would weaken governance and accountability in the city.
