New Delhi, June 30 -- After Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Sandhu's push for improving the traffic situation across the national capital and stepping up road safety, the police has stepped up enforcement measures. The LG was informed that prosecution for wrong side driving witnessed a 98 per cent increase, from 1,72,879 challans in June 2025, to 3,42,381 challans till June 25, 2026.
Sandhu recently had reviewed the progress regarding enforcement measures across the city in a meeting where Delhi Police chief and other senior cops were present.
LG has emphasized that improving Delhi's traffic flow is crucial, not only to save time and fuel, but most importantly to also prevent pollution and ensure road safety.
