Lucknow, July 11 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has appointed District Panchayat Chairpersons as administrators after their term expired today.
The administration issued an order to this effect on Friday night.
Officials here on Saturday said the five-year term of all 75 District Panchayat Chairpersons ends today.
"Until a new system is established, the outgoing District Panchayat Chairpersons will manage the operations of their respective District Panchayats and Kshetra Panchayats in the capacity of administrators," official added.
The Panchayati Raj Department had previously submitted a proposal regarding this to the government, which has been approved yesterday.
