Chennai, Aug. 24 -- Tamil Nadu Dairy Development Minister C.Vijayalakshmi said the government would consider increasing the milk procurement price to Rs 44 per litre after consulting Chief Minister Vijay.
Replying to a Special Calling Attention motion given notice of by DMK Whip E.V. Velu and AIADMK Legislature Party leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami in the State Assembly, she said the state-owned Aavin was facing financial pressure due to administrative problems under the previous government and declining sales of its dairy products.
Despite the financial constraints, the Chief Minister had already increased the procurement price by Rs three, including an incentive ofRs.two, a few days back.
