Guwahati, Nov. 11 -- The Assam Government has asked the state Director General of Police to closely monitor the social media after a section of people were seen either welcoming or posting Happy emoji over the terrorist attack in Delhi that claimed at least ten lives on Monday.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said this on Tuesday while interacting with newsmen at Raha in Nagaon district.
He said that the police are going to be strict against these people and if necessary arrests will be made.
"Since last night, some people have been either welcoming the Delhi attack on social media or reacting to the attack with happy emojis on social media. This implies that they are supporting the terrorist activities," Sarma said.
