Bhubaneswar, July 27 -- Opposition parties in Odisha have stepped up pressure on the BJP government, with both the Congress and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) demanding the resignation of School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond over large-scale errors in government school textbooks.
The political controversy gained momentum after the resignation of union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak issue, following sustained protests and demands by the CJP and Congress-led opposition.
Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Bhakta Charan Das has already threatened to call for an Odisha bandh and extend support to the 'Zen G' agitation in the state if Minister Gond does not resign within seven days.
