Mumbai, Aug. 28 -- Maharashtra Minister for Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence Development, and Cultural Affairs, Adv. Ashish Shelar, on Friday took charge as the President of the Esports Games Federation (ESGF).

He was nominated to the post at the Federation's General Body Meeting attended by representatives from 22 states across the country.

Speaking about his new role, Shelar said his aim was to make the esports sector more organised, transparent and professional. He said this would help attract more investment and create employment opportunities in India.
