Itanagar, July 18 -- An adolescent labourer was rescued from a road construction site at Etalin in Arunachal Pradesh's Dibang Valley district during a joint operation by the authorities on Saturday.
The rescued boy, aged 15, is a native of Dajo village in Tripura's Unakoti district.
Official sources said he was found engaged in labour at the VVP PMGSY road project along NH-313, in violation of the provisions of the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986, as amended.
During the operation, officials found that the minor had been employed by Anil Basumatary, who was working under a sub-contractor executing the road construction project.
