Bhubaneswar, July 11 -- Aditya Birla Group has proposed an additional investment of Rs 12,000 crore to expand its greenfield alumina refinery at Kansariguda in Odisha's Rayagada district, raising its capacity to three million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
The refinery, located in Kashipur tehsil, was initially envisaged with a capacity of one MTPA and an investment of about Rs 8,000 crore.
Considering the project's long-term potential and the proactive support extended by the Odisha Government, the Group has now proposed an additional investment of approximately Rs 12,000 crore to add another two MTPA to the refinery's capacity.
