Hyderabad, April 30 -- Telangana Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao on Thursday said the state has sufficient stocks to meet farmers' needs.
At a review meeting with officials and seed companies on the Kharief season, the Minister noted that about 19.42 lakh quintals of seeds are required for cultivation across 134.66 lakh acres, while over 38.21 lakh quintals are already available-nearly double the demand.
He directed officials to ensure only high-quality seeds reach farmers and ordered strict action against the production and sale of spurious seeds, including forming special enforcement teams and conducting border inspections.
