Aizawl, Aug. 16 -- The Mizoram government has signed an agreement for an Asian Development Bank (ADB)-supported loan package of around Rs 1,000 crore to strengthen the Mizoram Universal Health Care Scheme (MUHCS), Chief Minister Lalduhoma said on Saturday.
Addressing the state's 80th Independence Day gathering at Lammual in Aizawl, Lalduhoma said 90pc of the loan component would be covered by the Centre as grant assistance, significantly easing the financial burden on the state government.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the Mizoram Bana Kaih (Handholding) Scheme, describing it as the cornerstone of the government's efforts to build a self-reliant and economically resilient Mizoram.
