Hyderabad, March 1 -- Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Sunday warned that strict legal action would be taken against those spreading false propaganda against the Road Transport Department and the RTC.
In a statement, the Minister clarified that RTC has no role in recruitment, stating that all RTC recruitments are conducted under the purview of the Police Recruitment Cell.
He also dismissed rumours regarding driver eligibility, saying claims that drivers must be six feet tall were completely false. As per the Motor Vehicles Act, the minimum height requirement for drivers is 5.3 feet (160 centimetres), he said.
