Hyderabad, April 2 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday caught an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Chaitanyapuri Police Station and two staff members of Osmania University in separate bribery cases in the city, according to an ACB statement on Thursday.

In the first case, Poosala Balaiah, ASI at Chaitanyapuri Police Station under the Malkajgiri Commissionerate, was caught red-handed by ACB officials of City Range-I while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from a complainant.

The amount was reportedly sought to alter sections in a criminal case and facilitate a compromise through Lok Adalat. The tainted cash was recovered from his possession, and chemical tests on his fingers yielded positive results.
