Srinagar, Aug. 19 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Srinagar, on Wednesday registered a case against several former officials of the Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) and Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), along with two beneficiaries, over the alleged illegal construction of a multi-storey building in the flood basin and river-fringe area of the Jhelum in Srinagar's Rajbagh locality.
According to an ACB statement, FIR No. 10/2026 was registered following a Joint Surprise Check and a subsequent verification into allegations of unauthorised construction in the ecologically sensitive area.
The verification reportedly uncovered several irregularities in the approval and subsequent modification of building permissions.
