Srinagar, Sept. 1 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday trapped and arrested two police officers for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 in connection with a case registered at Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh here.
According to the ACB, it had received a written complaint alleging that police sub inspector Karanjeet Singh, investigating officer in FIR No. 65/2026 registered at Police Station Ram Munshi Bagh, had demanded illegal gratification from the complainant for closing the case as "Not Admitted" between the parties.
The complaint alleged that Singh had made the demand through his accomplice, Sub-Inspector Ravi Jee Bhat, posted at the same police station.
