Srinagar, Sept. 7 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested a land broker/tout for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 11,000 on behalf of a Patwari for issuance of revenue extracts in Batmaloo area of Srinagar.
The accused, identified as Abdul Hamid Khan, was caught red-handed during a trap operation while allegedly demanding and accepting the bribe on behalf of Saleem Altaf, Patwari, Halqa Batmaloo, the ACB said.
According to the ACB, it received a written complaint alleging that the Patwari, through Khan, had demanded illegal gratification from the complainant for issuing revenue extracts pertaining to his house.
