Kolhapur, Aug. 8 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a police head constable attached to Kurundwad police station in Kolhapur district and his two private agents for accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from the complainant on Friday night.
The arrested were identified as Santosh Vishwas Salunkhe (43), a police head constable, and his two private agents, Firoz Papalal Vijapure (40) and Zamir Salim Pathan (41), both residents of Kurundwad.
As per an ACB press release, a criminal case was registered against the complainant at Kurundwad police station. The complainant contacted Salunkhe to help in the case, following which Salunkhe demanded Rs 1.50 lakh through his agents. The matter was later settled at Rs 1 lakh.
