Bengaluru/New Delhi, July 23 -- Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Thursday condemned the violence during the NEET-UG protest at Jantar Mantar, alleging that vested political interests and anti-social elements had hijacked a legitimate students' movement, and called on the Centre to constitute a high-level committee to comprehensively reform the country's competitive examination system.
Issuing a strongly worded statement, the RSS-affiliated student organisation described the clashes between protesters and security personnel as "deeply unfortunate" and maintained that issues affecting lakhs of students could only be resolved through dialogue, transparency and institutional reforms, not confrontation.
