Lucknow, April 1 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested absconding accused Sameer Joshi from the Hazratganj Metro Station in the state capital, Lucknow, in connection with a fraud case involving the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).
Following his arrest, Joshi was produced before a local court, which remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody on Wednesday.
According to the CBI, the case dates back to a complaint filed by LIC officials on August 13, 2012. The complaint alleged that several accused had misused LIC funds by creating fake cheques in the names of fictitious policyholders.
