Kolkata, Sept. 10 -- Leader of Trinamool Congress parliamentary party Abhishek Banerjee alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) indulged in large-scale horse trading during the vice-presidential election, claiming that the ruling party spent between Rs 15 to Rs 20 crore to purchase each vote of opposition MPs.

Banerjee, who returned to Kolkata from Delhi today, said, "It is difficult to say whether cross-voting took place or opposition votes were declared invalid, but going by the numbers, there is room for speculation.

"Some Rajya Sabha MPs from Aam Aadmi Party are, in reality, BJP MPs in disguise. I have spoken to a few and understood that BJP came with bags of money, spending Rs 15-20 crore for every vote," the Trinamool Congress...
