New Delhi, July 19 -- Trinamool Congress national general secretary and Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee on Sunday alleged that the demolition of his Lok Sabha constituency office at Amtala was carried out in violation of the law, accusing the West Bengal Police and BJP workers of removing office equipment and documents even as the matter remains pending before the Calcutta High Court.
In a post on his WhatsApp channel, Banerjee claimed the action ignored Supreme Court and High Court rulings against so-called "bulldozer demolitions" and described it as an example of "lawlessness" prevailing in the state.
