New Delhi, March 31 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday alleged that the BJP and its former ally Shiromani Akali Dal were responsible for the spread of drugs in Punjab.
Addressing a press conference, AAP national chief spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar responded to remarks made by union Home Minister Amit Shah on making Punjab drug-free.
She alleged that previous governments in Punjab had allowed drug trafficking to flourish and claimed that the AAP administration has since intensified action against such networks.
Kakkar said that drug abuse remains a serious issue across the country and referred to past allegations surrounding Punjab, which had also drawn public attention through popular culture.
